Help me learn Turkish

Well,I am from Italy and I really really want to learn Turkish.I know some of the tenses but I want to improve it so I can talk to Turkish people.Because I plan to come to Turkey one.

First of all,It is hard to use this forum because It is Turkish and My Turkish is really weak.I wanna learn Past Tenses and Present Tenses.Infact,I do have some Turkish Grammer Book but withour helping,I can learn nothing.Thank you !

Ben ev gidiyorum.

Sen ev gidiyorsun.

O ev gidiyor.

Biz ev gidiyoruz.

Siz ev gidiyorsun.

Onlar ev gidiyor.

e = to

eve = to home

irinas: Turkish has two types of past tense.


1- If you are informed about events that were done in the past, you should use -mış end of the verb.

For example: Your father went to Turkey, but you don't this event and your mother said that your father went to Turkey, when someone ask you where is your father or where did your father go? smt like that, you should say: Babam Türkiyeye gitmiş. When you say this sentence, we realize that your father went to Turkey without not informing you.


2- If your father say to you that he will go to Turkey , you known where he is. Because of this you should "-ti" end of the verb. Babam Türkiyeye gitti.


If you did something in the past, when you talk about it, you don't use mış

I went to Italy for last holiday = Tatil için İtalyaya gittim.

You do not say Tatil için İtalyaya gitmişim.


It is the most important rule that everyone who speak Turkish has to know.
